Taketoshi Maehara, M.D., Ph.D.
President, ACMVDS 2025
Professor, Department of Neurosurgery,
Institute of Science Tokyo
Distinguished guests and colleagues:
It is my great honor to invite you to the 6th Asian Congress of Microvascular Decompression Surgery (ACMVDS). This is the second time the congress is held in Japan following Professor Fujimaki's congress at Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture, in 2018. I appreciate all members of ACMVDS and the Japanese Society for Microvascular Decompression Surgery for selecting me as the president of the congress. From the first congress in Shanghai to the latest 5th ACMVDS in Beijing, there have been heated discussions about MVD, leading to effective and safe surgeries. I am convinced that this congress is one of the most important conferences for Asian neurosurgeons.
In October 2024, Tokyo Medical and Dental University merged with Tokyo Tech to form Institute of Science Tokyo. The mission of the new institution is to advance scientific progress. I am committed to advancing the field of Microvascular Decompression surgery, and I look forward to pursuing this goal at the next ACMVDs based on our mission.
The 6th ACMVDS will be held at the Toshi Center Hotel Tokyo on September 20, 2025. The hotel is located in Nagatacho, the heart of Tokyo's business district, and offers convenient access to various sightseeing and business destinations throughout the city. It is approximately 120 minutes by limousine bus from Narita Airport and 70 minutes from Haneda Airport. I eagerly anticipate welcoming all of you to Tokyo this September to deepen our friendship and engage in heated discussions about MVD.
